Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Gharer Lakshmi (1998)
It is a family drama. Animesh Chakraborty was a trader who wanted to marry his son Arindam with a big industrialist Samaresh's daughter for his properties. On the other hand Arindam was coming home by his own car but unfortunately his car broke down. At that time he heard a song and impressed by that song, he came to the song's origin. That was the house of Sumi. Sumi was the singer. Then Arindam wanted to learn music from her father. Sumi's father Kamalendu Mukhopadhay was a great singer in the past. Kamalendu agreed to teach. Everyday,Arindam came to Sumi's house. Arindam and Sumi loved each other. Sumi's father died by heart attack. Then Arindam married Sumi in a temple. After knowing all the maters, Animesh was very angry. So Animesh told Arindam that he would not admit Sumi as his daughter-in-law. But after some days he went to Sumi's house to take her home. Sumi was pregnant at that time.She was admited in a nurshing home, there she gave birth to a child. But nurse stole the child and told Sumi that she gave birth to a dead child. Every thing happened by the order of Animesh Chakroborty. When Sumi came home she was driven away by her father-in-law because an unknown person said that he was Sumi's husband. Then Sumi took shelter in Prabir's house. Prabir was a shoe polisher. After some years, a boy escaped from orphanage and took shelter in Prabir's house. Through that boy, Arindam find out Sumi. Then Arindam went to orphanage; he came to know that the boy was their own son. From that nurse, Arindam came to know that every thing happened for his father. Animesh was sorry for his behaviour. Then the film ended happily.
