Hansuli Banker Upakatha is a 1962 Indian Bengali drama film released on 1962. The film is directed by Tapan Sinha, music composed by Hemanta Mukherjee.

A hashuli bank - name at a village whree a river bends and makes a structure like a special ornament of woman's neck (hashuli) this tapan sinha tilar lyrically diseribas the life struggles of different people of that village the mother nature has not given her many blessings to those people, they cant earn enough for thier living room nature here. They depend on rich peoples for their earning and get easily exploited by them. After monoon, they make fields and earn something; besite this, they carry palanquins for bridesand grooms; or works for zaminder, who explots there much. But its there festivels, dance and song, which gives them the jay at life. They sing and dance regularly, fight for small things and do mating for judgement. They have a 'matabbes' (head of the village) also, who decides what to do for themselves. 'Matabbes' has physical relationship with a married lady. Karale, a young boy, is the most exeptional chareetes in this village. He works in reailway department, and its own time of would war, dightes palnes appearily in the stey, so he decides to join in a new factory for more income. He offers other villagers to come with him, matabbes tries to protect taht. The husband of that lady, to whom matabbes has a realtion, after else him and beats him with a rod in head he also chases his wife, but she dies by a snake bite, before he comes. Matabbes also dies lates, but before his death, he sus a changed sight of his village, villagers are cutting trees and making ground for new factory. New doys are coming.
