Highway is a 2014 Indian Bollywood romance, drama film released on Feb 21, 2014. The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali, produced by Imtiaz Ali.
The story starts on the wedding evening. This wedding is of Veera Tripathi who is the daughter of a rich business man. She gets out of the car near the gas station and it is her that she is kidnapped. The gangs of kidnappers are very shocked to find out that her father is having many known people from the government. It is here, when one of the kidnappers named as Mahabir Bhati still decide to go with this option of kidnapping her. He decides to keep her with him. Then this man takes her to various cities and she also moves with this man. As days go by, Veera actually starts living with peace and finds a secured place with Mahabir. She actually feels like a freedom rather than a kidnapped girl. Still, the police are behind the search of her and the kidnapper. One day, when the police see the truck, he herself decides to hide from them. She confesses to Mahabir of her living in her place, where her uncle actually molested her and this fact is kept hidden by her mother. She tells him that she actually loved the journey with him and is not interested to get back. Mahabir takes care of her and therefore, tells her to go, but she refuses and later they both take a shelter in the tree house. But, next morning, the police kill Mahabir and she goes back to her family. Here, she tells the truth of her uncle and decides not to live with them anymore.
