Holi is a 1940 Indian Bollywood social film released on Jan 01, 1940. The film is directed by A. R. Kardar, produced by Chandulal J. Shah under banner named Ranjit Studios, music composed by Khemchad Prakash.
The college authorities not only do not declare the Holi as a holiday but organise a lecture, attendance at which is compulsory. A fight breaks out among students in which the Principals nephew is hurt and a boy who was supposed to have been responsible for it is rusticated. In protest the students disrupt the lecture. Those responsible for the disruption are expelled and ordered to vacate their hostel rooms immediately. The next day, on the Rang Panchami, the police are called to restore order. Why this violence?
