All time favourite! Rajashree Production’s Hum aapke hai kaun remained the most heart throbbing films of the Indian cinema. The movie is based on the Indian customs, traditions and the concept of joint family. Director Sooraj Badjatiya had worked hard in giving his best. The film starts with the introduction of Prem. He has completed his degree course and returns to his family. Prem’s family is searching for Rajesh (Prem’s elder brother). Prem then gives an idea to his Uncle to take them to Ram tekdi and find a bride for his brother. Uncle’s friend suggests a match. So the family decides to visit ram tekdi and also see the girl. In Ram tekdi , they meet with Prof Siddharth Chaudhary who happens to be Prem’s Uncle’s friend. Prof is very happy to see his friend and he introduces his two daughters Pooja and Nisha to Rajesh and Prem. Rajesh likes Pooja and the family arranges for their engagement . But in this journey, Prem falls in love at first sight with Nisha. Nisha is very vivacious and a bubbly girl. She is the younger sister of Pooja. Now when the families are celebrating the engagement ceremony, Prem and Nisha are singing songs for this couple. After Pooja and Rajesh are married, the couple is expecting their first child. So, the family decides to celebrate the baby showering ceremony for Pooja and they invite Nisha to attend the ceremony. It is after this, Nisha gets close to Prem and she falls in love with Prem. After Pooja delivers her first child, Prem and Nisha decide to confess this to Pooja. So, Prem takes Pooja to her place and while she gets to know of their relationship, she meets with an accident and falls from the stairs. Due to the injuries in her head, the doctor declares her dead after she is taking to the hospital. But still, somehow Pooja tries to confess her husband Rajesh about Nisha’s and Prem’s relation. After Pooja dies, the family decides to tei Rajesh’s knot with Nisha. Even Nisha agrees to this only for Pooja’s baby. Prem and Nisha sacrifice their love for the baby. But, it is the miracle of god that the families come to know about Prem’s and Nisha’s relationship and finally they tie the weddin g knot saying ‘HUM AAPKE HAI’! The film turned out to be the turning point for all the characters. The film has received filmfare awards. The screenplay is good and even the dialogue narration is excellent. When you watch Rajashree Production’s movie, you get to understand the perfect family bond shared in a joint family. The film’s highlighting point is Prem’s and Nisha’s chemistry. It makes you fall in love with both the characters. The supporting cast of the film has lived upto the expectations and you cannot neglect the hardwork that they have shared in this film. The songs are just perfect!
