I have to confess I didn’t go into Kapil Sharma’s “I, Me aur Main” with too many expectations. The posters certainly did nothing to pique my excitement. But 30 minutes into the film, I was intrigued. This wasn’t a run-of-the-mill story; the protagonist was someone you would want to hit on the head within the first half-hour. Chitrangada strikes the right notes for the most part and Prachi Desai lends a bubbly energy to a few of the scenes. Both Zarina Wahab and Mini Mathur bring a touch of warmth to bear upon an otherwise hopelessly soggy film.

This could have been a slap-up rom com. But the trouble with this good-looking movie is that it is patchily written and performed, and often feels contrived.

Good films inspire… to write pages about it, to rave about one standout performance or one transcendental moment. Bad films inspire too… to demand answers, to go on a ranting spree and just mourn the mess. And then there are movies like I, Me Aur Main. The kind so bland and boring that you start counting the words from the first line of the review. Yes, it’s a rom-com about what they are calling a man-child growing up

I, ME AUR MAIN is a movie that has come 15 years too late. It also has a wrong casting. Every character is flawed. Let's begin with the central character of Ishaan (John Abraham). John is visually uncomfortable in this role. And his body language says it all. Anushka (Chitrangada Singh) on the other hand looks like she has walked in from the sets of INKAAR to here.
