Jaag Utha Insaan is a 1984 Indian Bollywood social film released on Jul 06, 1984. The film is directed by K Vishwanath, produced by Rakesh Roshan. Beautiful Sandhya, hailing from an orthodox Brahmin family, is an accomplished dancer, and in love with a Harijan youth, Hari, a cele- brated flute player. Sandhyas grand mother was disowned by her hus- band as Sandhyas mother had taken a spouse not to his liking. Sandhya had to perform a dance in her grand fathers village to the accompani- ment of Haris flute. Everyone, even her grand-father, was charmed but this led to Sandhyas marriage with an orthodox brahmin youth Nandu. When Nandu saw that Sandhya could not persuade herself to be his wife as she was in love with Hari, Nandu withdrew and turned her over to Hari.
