After a wait of eight long years, the master storyteller, the most admired and revered director of our times, Yash Chopra, returns with his new motion picture. Regrettably, JAB TAK HAI JAAN happens to be the last film of one of the greatest raconteurs of our times...Yash Chopra is synonymous with love and romance and also spellbinding drama and heartrending emotions. Is synonymous with harmonious music and exquisite poetry and also snow-capped mountains

The late Yash Chopra is known for grandeur and an eye for detail. His last outing behind the camera is lavish on both counts. The splendor of Ladakh and London is captured beautifully - the detailing of scenes is impeccable. The late director infuses romance into every situation; capturing the mood of even the flowers in the vases! Every scene has a connotation to the ones preceding or the ones gone by. Only the length is a bit tiring as he labours to bring the love story

Words will not do justice to the swan song of a great filmmaker, but one has to try. So here it goes. Some people really know how to make a film. Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ) is Yash Chopra’s last film as director and it’s a film rich in philosophy, poetic love and honest emotions. Like any piece of commercial cinema, it has its cinematic liberties and plot holes. But the sum of it is an old school love story that weaves its magic on the tender hearts

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is the swan song of Yash Chopra, the big daddy of romance. Every frame is picture perfect, the emotions are well nuanced. But there is one inherent flaw--the story by Aditya Chopra is hackneyed. Shah Rukh Khan is Samar Anand a bomb disposal expert from the Indian army posted in Ladakh. He's a brave heart(of the kind you've seen in Hollywood movies like Livewire, Hurt Locker) who has defused close to a hundred bombs without bothering to ever wear a safety suit

In contemporary times when, love stories have more or less turned into instant make out and instant breakup escapades and in a generation where sex comes before love, it's heartening to see a full-blown romance saga which has good old values and yet a very modern outlook. Like most love stories, even Jab Tak Hai Jaan has sacrifice and sanctity at its footing yet at no point is it depressing or disheartening. And thereby, the immortal filmmaker Yash Chopra celebrates the true spirit of life

Tiding over the logical incongruity of an ageing superstar playing a twenty-something lover boy who matches steps with a vivacious actress half his age might take some doing. But once you manage to get that mental holdup out the way, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Yash Chopra’s last film, is a perfectly fitting finale to an eventful life and career. The screenplay by Aditya Chopra and Devika Bhagat is by no means flawless but, for the most part, Jab Tak Hai Jaan is watchable

Take away the maudlin element from Yash Chopra’s swan song and it’s tough to stay objective. But if truth be told the veteran’s final bow is a drag as rationality is AWOL (Absent Without Leave) and dives deep for far too long on the enforced complexity of true love. Major Samar Anand (Shah Rukh Khan) from the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Indian Army has diffused his 98th bomb without a shiver or a bomb suit. Much like Amitabh Bachchan

Akira (Anushka Sharma) is a spunky student out for a project in Ladakh when she chances upon the story of Indian army’s bomb disposal officer Samar (Shah Rukh Khan) and decides to make a documentary on him: The Man Who Cannot Die. The story goes into flashback mode as we learn about Samar’s lost love. A hard working chap in London, Samar worked a couple of jobs to make ends meet but always looked at the brighter side of things

With his last movie, Yash Chopra certainly doesn't redefine romance, but does celebrate it with big-budget pomp and glory. 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' is an easy watch and even though it doesn't tick every logical box, it's the sort of movie that will make you fall in love with love again. Major Samar Anand (Shah Rukh Khan) is an Indian army officer with the bomb disposal unit, who's gained a reputation for being the man who cannot die, defusing explosives

You will not like Jab Tak Hai Jaan if mushy romances are not your staple. The movie doesn’t have the intensity of some of Yash Chopra’s earlier romances like Daag, Kabhie-Kabhie, Silsila and Chandni. But it still has the stamp of the man who made some of the best romantic fare in Bollywood.

In what world would a beautiful, fabulously rich girl who cruises around London in a chauffer-driven Bentley fall in love with a waiter? In Yash Chopra's world, of course! It helps enormously that the waiter is played by Shah Rukh Khan with charm turned on high-beam. In any case, you don't go to a Yash Chopra movie to delve into realism or the messiness of relationships. You go to partake in a fantasy of swooning, idealised love - and Jab Tak Hai Jaan delivers

Now who'd have thought that a simple promise made to God would become a deal breaker in a relationship? Yash Chopra, in his latest and last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, serves a missive halfway through a frothy romance between Samar (Shah Rukh Khan) and Meera (Katrina Kaif). Just as we're buying into their princess and pauper love story, Meera makes a promise that will separate the two, and frankly drag down a film that's coasting along smoothly until this point

This one is for the romantics who can sit through Bollywood’s version of eternal love, or the die-hard fans of Shah Rukh Khan who believe that at 47, he can effortlessly and convincingly woo women half his age. For the rest of us, Jab Tak Hai Jaan has very little to offer. Granted that the film tries to take a fresher look at love in the times of ‘instant link ups and break ups’ — the lead pair sleeps together before tying the knot, a young woman admits

In a perfect world, this film would have been called (Unending) Days Of Samar. A bomb defusal expert who embraces fatality on a daily basis hoping he'll be blown to smithereens, Major Samar Anand is a stubbled Aviator-clad army-man who seems to like nothing better than tight black tee-shirts and singing folksy Punjabi songs in his quiet-time. And yet death, like a taxicab at rush hour, isn't easy to find when you want it. When you don't, on the other hand

The basic premise of 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', though a little too far fetched, does manage to keep you keep you engaged till the first half at least. Yes, it does taken an entire one and a half hour to actually come to the point where the film's title is established and the conflict brought to the fore as well. However the journey taken till then follows a leisurely pace and while one wonders whether Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif would indeed meet, the wait is a rather long one

It is difficult to judge “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” solely as a movie. Like it or not, it is the swansong of one of the defining directors of the Indian film industry and you cannot help but think of Yash Chopra’s legacy as you watch his last film. There are shades of “Kabhi Kabhie”, “Dil To Pagal Hai” and “Veer Zaara”, and as you watch Shah Rukh Khan kissing Katrina Kaif on a lush, green meadow, you cannot help but think that this man knew his romance

I’m going with three out of five for the late Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Despite its many script problems, it’s a consistently watchable film that oozes with feeling and real emotion. A fitting swan song.

JTHJ will possibly not be heralded as a landmark film, it won’t run for weeks together like its other predecessor from the production house; however it’s one of the better romances to come out of Bollywood in recent times. Yes it’s sloppy, yes it’s amusingly clichéd, loopholes/facts hard to look past, but SRK makes it work, one aviator-clad stubble form, one honest act, one engaging performance. Maybe sometimes that’s all there is, Jab Tak Hai Khan.

There is a reality, as we know it, our mundane daily lives peppered with some joys. There is good cinema with its play on the reality as we know it. And we accept those stories, as unique commentaries on the state of our lives. And then there is an alternate reality of Bollywood, where couples fall in love, with loud souring soundtracks in foreign locations, but fate keeps them apart and they make unreasonable promises and sacrifices to save their loved ones

A rookie documentary filmmaker discovers a diary storing a ten-year-old romance of a man who cannot die and decides to shoot a movie on him. The man in question has lost his heart to a flawless beauty while shoveling snow outside a grand cathedral in United Kingdom and now diffuses bombs in the Indian army. The concerned pretty woman is in the habit of trading with God by making small-scale sacrifices (will give up chocolates, fur) in order to realise her wishes

First off, let me say this: Yash Chopra was one of Indian cinema’s finest. Ranging from the path breaking Deewaar to Lamhe that was well ahead of its time, from the thrilling Ittefaq to the sensitive Veer Zaara, he has left behind a body of work that will serve as the standard representing the decades he worked in. He was the rare filmmaker who moved with the times, refusing to cling to obsolete ideas unlike his contemporaries; disallowing the years

The title of Yash Chopra’s swan-song has a retrospective bitter-sweetness to it : the veteran director did not live to see his film in the theatres. ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ has released, in old YRF tradition, on Deepawali, but what the title manages to say pithily takes the fllm nearly three very long hours, and the pay-off isn’t as sweet as it should have been. The story may be set in today’s times, but the theme is vintage Yash Chopra

Ajay Devgn's Diwali gamble didn't quite pay off this time. A film like 'Son of Sardar' can work on two accounts, either on the merit of star power or on the quantity/quality of amusing gimmicks that the makers can pack in. However, with a flimsy plot and inadequate humour, the story fails to take off. Simply put, it is a bloody revenge saga where Jassi (Ajay Devgn) and Billu (Sanjay Dutt) belong to the opposite camps. Jassi comes to India

Jab Tak Hai Jaan makes life look easy. So easy that a self proclaimed 25-year-old, who looks 40, gets to kiss a girl who seems to have walked out of Vogue. You also believe that the latter, despite all her Mercedes and Gucci glory, can’t keep her hands off a waiter who has an annoying habit of speaking like he is perpetually in an art of living class. Life’s so easy, that an aspiring documentary-maker, can walk straight into an army camp in Ladakh

The story starts with Samar Anand . He is a major in the Indian army known to have diffused its 99 bomb and he is about to diffuse his 100th bomb. It is after this, Akira Rai who is in discovery channel is about to make a documentary which will help her to grow her career grow. So she meets with Samar Anand and she gets to know about the harsh realities of his life. The diary contains details about his love life and the girl Meera. Meera is an Indian girl whom Samar meets while he earns his living by singing songs. Meera is a very beautiful girl whose father is a rich man. She is engaged to the love of her life but still something is incomplete in her life. Meera’s mother has escaped with the love of her life when Meera was a child. Since then she didn’t even meet her. Meera want to gift her father a precious gift that even she can sing in Punjabi language. So she approaches Samar. Samar decides to teach her Punjabi song and in return, he wants Meera to teach him English. But in this journey, Meera and Samar fall in love with each other and Samar also takes her to meet her mother. Meera realizes her love for Samar. Meera’s only support is her father Jesus with whom she prays the things in return. When Samar is serious, then Meera decides to pray for his safety and in return, she will be leaving him. Then Samar and Meera are separated and then Akira decides to unite these two lovers. But in this, again Samar meets with an accident and he had lost his memory. Akira then approaches Meera and tells her about this incident. Akira and Meera act according to the doctor’s suggestion. Akira and Meera try every possible thing to bring Samar’s memory back. In this journey, Akira brings Meera close to Samar. But after he gets treated he comes to know about Meera. And Samar leaves Meera. But in the end, Meera goes to Samar and confesses her love for him. Akira succeeds in making a documentary on Samar and this increases her career graph in the discovery channel. The film is good in terms of story and songs. We definitely expect more when its about SRK’s movies. The romantic sequence between Meera and Samar is fantabulous with strong support of the songs and dance moves. The film is excellent in everything and it makes you feel the perfect direction of Yash raj’s direction. The film has good locations and what is most important part in the film is the Discovery channel shown in the film. The film’s music composer has worked extensively on the songs and the music of the film. Overall, this movie keeps you engaged till the end. The film’s art designer work can be seen in the posters. The posters have depicted a very romantic tale between Shahrukh and Katrina. The film is excellent and keeps you entertained till the end.
