The Bhatts have the utmost number of films which have developed into a victorious franchise. MURDER 2 has hit the bull's eye, JANNAT 2 opens this Friday, while RAAZ 3 and AASHIQUI 2 arrive later this year. So what does a film franchise precisely connote? It symbolizes a series of films wherein the title and certain constituents of a movie remain the same, but the story alters in every installment. JANNAT was about a man's pursuit for heaven

There is a memorable moment of flushed pain at the end of this textured film on arms and the mangled, when Randeep Hooda symbolically throws out his wife's memories from the car window. Life's like that. Sometimes you need to just roll down the window and throw away the extra baggage that you carry around in the name of love and commitment. Short of artificial affections Jannat 2 is easily the best film from the Bhatt camp since Gangster

Guns for a cause - Nothing illegal about it!' That is gun dealer Sonu Dilli's ( Emraan Hashmi) theory - If everyone in the world owned a gun, there'd be no war, only peace. He's as easy with his guns as with his gaalis, and like a self-proclaimed KKC (kutti, kameeni cheez), 'humps' a woman, ridiculously to the rhythm of 'ek rasta, do rahi ...' (climaxing to aha aha!). ACP Pratap (Randeep Hooda) is the always bloodshot, almost 'Devdas'esque cop

Though a sequel, the film is completely unrelated to the original and the only common thread is that here too, the hero takes the road to hell in search of his Jannat. So, Sonu Dilli (Emraan Hashmi) is a street-smart gun runner operating on the streets and bylanes of Delhi alongwith his partner in crime Balli, who’s nicknamed him KKC (Kutti Kameeni Cheez). A small fish in the big pond, Sonu believes in the funda that men will anyway kill each other

Jannat 2 follows the basic template of a small-time crook trying to reform himself when he falls in love. So the narrative primarily is a love story playing simultaneously alongside a crime-drama, both consequential of each other. But while the crime backdrop is reasonably riveting, the romance track is dull and deterrent to the drama. Only if the director could balance the two elements appropriately, Jannat 2 could have been a heavenly experience!

Fox Star Studios and Vishesh Films’ Jannat 2 is an action drama about a small time arms dealer in Delhi who becomes a police informer. Sonu Dilli (Emraan Hashmi) is a street-smart, small time arms dealer in Delhi who has the gift of gab. When he is interrogated by a tough cop, ACP Pratap Raghuvanshi (Randeep Hooda), he turns informer for the latter. Although helping ACP Pratap puts Sonu in jail for a little time, he continues to purvey the ACP with information

There are some actors who, no matter what, never get on to the A-list. Never mind if they are talented, passionate and good enough like any other actor in the industry. They always have to remain content with being second rung and the media will only go to them when they run out of options on the A-list. Bollywood's history is replete with such stars who, in spite of their talent, can never be counted as a 'star'. They never arrived no matter how hard they tried

Jannat 2 begins with a bang. In the narrow gullies of Old Delhi (point to ponder: when did ‘Dilli’ become Bollywood’s main muse?), a man is holding a gun to the head of Sonu Dilli KKC, short for kutti kameeni cheez. Sonu, played by Emraan Hashmi, is a small-time hood who deals in guns. But before the man can shoot him, Sonu gives him a crash course on why the gun in his hand is unworthy and why he needs to buy a new one, from Sonu naturally

Jannat 2' is no sequel to the 2008 film about a petty gambler seduced into a career of high-stakes match-fixing. But the protagonist of this new film, played once again by Emraan Hashmi, faces a moral dilemma similar to the one the hero of the previous film did. Hashmi stars as Sonu Dilli, a local gun-seller in the Capital, who is bullied by a tough cop to become a police informer. That cop is Inspector Pratap, played by Randeep Hooda, who's obsessed with taking down

Sex and guns. Emraan Hashmi is the champion of B-life. He's back again in a vehicle tailormade for his unique ability to look fear in the eye. Betting illegally on cricket, dealing in drugs, chasing married women, selling sex, is there a single low life activity that Hashmi has not done onscreen? Well there was running guns and that's now on his bio data too with Jannat 2. So there he is again, flirting outrageously, doing all sorts of things to make money

With a gripping first half and a slightly dragging second one, Jannat 2 has its share of pluses and minuses. My suggestion? Go watch this for the wonderful performances of Emraan and Randeep.

First things first. Jannat 2 isn’t a sequel to Jannat. If that was about match-fixing, this is about arms smuggling. The only common links? Leading man Emraan Hashmi and director Kunal Deshmukh. And since Hashmi was bumped off at the end of Part I, there isn’t much likelihood of him coming back to the same film. No, there isn’t a humshakal or a long-lost brother angle here. Should we be thankful for that? Well…For Jannat 2, the Bhatt brothers raid the DVD racks yet again

Kunal Deshmukh's JANNAT 2 can be best described as patchy. The storyline lacks imagination and given this backdrop, he tries his best to weave a plot into the scenes. He succeeds mainly because there's Randeep Hooda, Bollywood's most underrated actor, who stands tall among the ruins. Take his character out of the film and you have nothing left. Such is the impact he has on the film. The weak link in the plot is the love story between Emraan Hashmi and new comer Esha Gupta

In the first scene of Jannat 2, a small-time crook is cornered by an angry creditor in an Old Delhi gali. The creditor pulls a gun on him, but our hero isn’t scared in the least. He takes one look at the weapon being aimed at him, dismisses its low quality in impressive detail, and before you know it, has managed to sell the man his own (far cooler) gun – making a neat getaway and a profit. Meet Sunil Dhariwal, alias Sonu Dilli, KKC. Um, yes, Kutti Kameeni Cheez

The sequel of the 2008 film Jannat, the film is a predictable, yet partly gripping tale of a small-time brat who faces the results of his own deeds.Although the plot is calculable, the swift narrative manages to squeeze out humdrum portions. The movie had a prospect of being more engaging if the director would have invested some extra action sequences.Overall, the portrayal of this foreseeable plot is appealing in parts. Jannat 2 is worth a one-time watch, since there aren’t many options for the movie-goers this weekend.

All through ‘Jannat 2’, it seems as if Nicolas Cage’s ‘Lord of War’ is present somewhere in the background. The film revolves around the hitherto unexplored-in-Bollywood territory of arms trafficking, and doesn’t qualify as anything but absolutely average.Watch ‘Jannat 2’ for its catchy numbers (better still, buy a CD!). And since there aren’t many options this weekend, you can count that as a reason to go watch the movie!Ratings: Two cheers for this one!

Don’t be fooled. This is not a sequel to 'Jannat’, in which match-fixing shenanigans in high profile cricket matches gave Emran Hashmi and Kunal Deshmukh a fertile hunting ground, and us a watchable film. 'Jannat 2’ is, for the most part, a badly-done, badly-acted enterprise, lifted only a notch by a couple of performances. In this one, Hashmi goes by the elongated name of Sonu Dilli, Kutti Kameeni Cheez. The tag should give you an idea of the kind of film

Webster's dictionary defines a sequel as oh, who am I kidding. You and I both know what a sequel is, but this is elementary knowledge the bigwigs at Vishesh Films might currently require. Because there is absolutely no rationale behind naming their new movie Jannat 2, the film having nothing whatsoever to do with the 2008 film or any of its characters. It shares a director and a leading man, yes, but by that logic next week's Hollywood release would be called
