Jatin and Sanam are the children of Surendra and Sushma, a middle- class couple, who suddenly find themselves in affluence when they sell ancestral property. Karan is a friend of Jatin. Karans father Amar- nath, being involved in a clandestine affair with a married woman, neglects the proper upbringimg of his son. Karan gets into the trap of Uncle Joe, a smuggler. Karan loves Sanam but Sanams parents object to their marriage because of Karans financial status. The youths rebel and decide to get married.
