Jhumroo is a 1961 Indian Bollywood comedy,social,musical,family d film released on Jan 01, 1961. The film is directed by Shankar Mukherjee, music composed by Kishore Kumar. Dwarkanth, a wealthy resident of Darjeeling, welcomes home his only daughter, Anjana, who returns after completing her studies. The sophisticated young girl is strangely drawn to the gang of gypsies who work on the tea estates and live near Dwarkanths own pal tial home in their humble bustees. Anjana meets Jhumroo, a happy-go-lucky gypsy boy, soon to fall in love.... thus creating dangerous rival in the gypsy beauty, Chamki, who has herself known and loved Jhumroo for as a long as she can remember. . This socially uneuql romance meets with the strong disapproval of Dwarkanth who has already selected Ramesh as his future son-in-law. He forbids Anjana to have anything to do with the gupsies, and socially with Jhumroo. Almost simultaneously, the Sardar of the gypsies, Jhumroo cannot marry outside his own social order. . Dwarkanth hurriedly goes ahead with the marriage plans for Anjana with Ramesh, but unfortunately for him the good hearted Ramesh, through otherwise a weakling, learns where Ajnanas feelings really lie, and winning over the fiery Chamki to his side, he plots the kidnapping of Anjana right from the wedding pandal. This daring act creates a sensation. . All at once, the engrossing story of "Jhmroo" unfolds in a riot of colour and action. What spell did the old gypsy woman Kamli hold over Dwarkanth?
