Jiban Trishna is a 1998 Indian Bengali romance film released on 1998. The film is directed by Bidesh Sarkar, music composed by Anupam Dutta.

Kamlesh and Sumita are in love with each other, but for unforseen circumstances are not able to marry each other. Kamlesh suffers a setback and has to be sent to a rehabilitation centre where he finds other people too in misery. He falls for Jhenuk, who is also heart-broken, as she witnessed a truck accident whereby her lover died. Jhenuk, also reciprocate Kamlesh`s feeling towards her because of the sole reason that coincidentally Kamlesh is a look-a-like of her lover Partha. she even show signs of improvement in her psychological state of mind. But Kamlesh could not digest the fact that Jhenuk does not love him but showers her tender feelings on him considering him as now dead Partha. Kamlesh does not want to be a second time loser and he endures severe pain and agony as and when he also tries to recollect his past. This is when Dr. Bose pounces on the oppurtunity as his way of treatment is different from others and everybody acknowledges the fact that his clinic is not a mental asylum but a rehabilitation center. Dr. Bose edges on Kamlesh, who is in much better frame of mind than Jhenuk, to pursue her with true love and she will definitely recuperate and realize that it is pure love that matters and this is what happens in reality. Kamlesh`s family as well as his friend Nimai and on the other hand Jhemuk`s family are happy for both of them. Perhaps, Dr. Bose correctly comments, jibane trishna thakle, pathta nijeye pawa jaye (if you try towards your temptations, you will be successful).
