The greatest emotion in Man is that of Love. Kamal and Kiran are two young souls who savour this sublime emotion. . Kamal is the son of a poor Flower Vendor and Kiran is the daughter of a wealthy and earstwhile Thakur Karan Singh who is believed to be dead . Kiran is brought up virtuously as an orphan by her step mother Thakur Maa and she receives no true parental love and affection but from Madhav Kaka a loyal associate of her father. . Kiran loves lotuses (Kamal Ke Phool) by which she symbolises Kamal, when she learns that the flower vendor from whom she buys lotuses is none than Kamals father, she accepts the fact gracefully and her love for him is enhanced. . Ironically when Thakur Maa lerns of this she is greatly angered and plans to get Kiran married to her relative, Kiran opposes this proposal vehemently and is prevented from leaving the haveli behind Bars in the same haveli, because of which there is a clash between Kiran and Thakur Maa which compells her to leave the haveli. . Kiran meets Kamal and tells him of her woes and they run away and get married in a Mandir with only shanker Bhagwan as witness but unfortun- ately Thakur Maa catches up with them along with a few musclemen who beat Kamal mercilessly and forcibly take Kiran back to the haveli and lock her up. . The old scarred man who is none other than Thakur Karan Singh is greatly angered at this and escapes from the lock up and to save his daughter he has to fight with Thakur Maas henchmen during which a great fire breaks out and the haveli gets burnt. .
