Lal Salaam is a 2002 Indian Bollywood drama film released on May 03, 2002. The film is directed by Gaganvihari Borate, produced by Sanjiv Karambalekar.
Authority, red tape, and bribery have become part of life in India, especially in Nagpur. Unable to pay the compensation, some young people make it to violence, leading to brawl and many deaths. The entire pressure is put on the police, who bring in suspecting people, even people who had nothing to do with the brawl, thus angering the community at large even more. Relatives of victims from police atrocity, and an unresponsive and elusive government, creates armed opponent who call themselves Naxalites, and forces to bring upon swift justice for everyone. Living in one such society is Dr. Khanna, who is well educated and anti to any rebel-like charges. He is attracted to Rupi, his childhood beau. He has a militant bro, Ghisu. Dr. Kanna leaves this society, to do his studies for several months. When he arrives, nothing is the same anymore.
