Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Maati O Manush (2010)
Jhunu is a young girl staying in a village. She is not capable of speaking as she is speech impaired. A particular group of sanyasins who are much revered can not stand her and try to mislead the other villagers of the village as well saying she is responsible for any evil taking place in the village and for all other social ills. The villagers are convinced as is the Local M.L.A who all want to drive her out of the village. During a particular religious function when young babies are blessed by a sanyasin who hangs by a hook which is inside his back, after completing a few rounds the sanyasin hands over a baby to one of fellow sanyasins who drops the baby. Jhunu who happens to be present there is held responsible. The M.L.A’s henchmen take her away and lock her in her own house. There is a powerful storm and it blows away their house and she escapes. The sanyasins chase her and eventually beat her to death.
