Mere Humsafar is a 1970 Indian Bollywood romance, social film released on Jan 01, 1970. The film is directed by Dulal Guha, produced by Yusuf Teen Darwajawala , music composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.
Raju was a simple village boy and a kind hearted farmer. After the death of his father, the village Mahajan confiscates the bullocks on which depended the future of Raju, Raju approached Bania for giving him his bullocks, but his request was not heeded. He had to clear further debt of his father debt of his father and for the purpose he decided to go to the city to earn money. He stealthily enters into a goods truck which was going to the city. In the truck he by a coincid- ence meets a young beautiful girl, who was also a victim of circumst- ances and was travelling by the same truck. Due to Rajus simple and pleasant manners, both of them come close to each other during the journey. The driver of the truck comes to know about these two person and after a struggle with Raju he also becomes their well wisher takes them to the destination uptill where the truck was going and from there manages to put them into a goods train which was bound for Bombay. On the way the trainstops at a station, Raju gets down to fetch water for the thirsty companion and in the meantime the train leaves the station and both the lovers are seperated. The girl Tarna reaches Bomaby and eventually meets a talented film Director Ashok who finds in Tarana spark of becoming an artiste, Ashok labours very hard and the reuslt was that Tarana with a new screen name of Meenakshi becomes a most popular Film Star. On the other hand Raju on reaching Bombay falls in the trap of a Gunda and continues his search for Tarana. The sister of Gunda falls in love with Raju. . Ashok comes to know about the love between Raju and Tarana and does not like that they should meet fearing that in that case he will lose a great Heroine for whome he had laboured so hard.
