Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Mr. Funtush (2008)
Palash (Prosenjit) who has become a qualified engineer returns to his “bustee” when he resides after finishing his studies. He is the pride of all the people as most of the other people are illiterate. Pratap Dutta, an influential businessman cum promoter felicitates him publicly and offers him a job which Palash accepts. That is actually Pratap as he is eying the land on which the “bustee” exists and knows that he can use Palash to get hold of that land so the people has immense faith in him. Palash convinces the people to part with their land in the return of money and a two room flat, but Pratap tricks everyone and proves Palash to be a liar and a murderer (Babu, the only person to have refused Pratap’s proposal had been killed by him). Everyone believes Pratap and Palash’s father is insulted and Palash is sent to jail. Palash is then let off by a police and he is shot by the O.C and everyone thinks him to be dead. In the meantime the criminal named Funtoosh, a lookalike of Palash is brought home by his father though his wife Kabita (Rachana) has an instant dislike towards him. He saves Palash’s family and the people of the “bustee” repeatedly from Pratap’s goons. Milan (Angshuman), Pratap’s son loves Jui (Palash’s sister) and he leaves his father for good and comes to Jui. Funtoosh gets them married to each other. Fuintoosh asks Kabita to contest the election where she easily defeats the sitting MLA. When Kabita is celebrating along with the people of the “bustee”, Funtoosh (who turns out to be policeman in disguise turns up with the biggest surprise and that is Palash. It turns out that Palash is not dead and had been saved by someone and it is Funtoosh who had been looking after him, but he is completely immobile and has lost his speech. Pratap Dutta arrives and begins to beat and torture Funtoosh and it is Palash who suddenly regains him mobility and teaches Pratap Dutta a lesson.
