Nabarag is a 1971 Indian Bengali drama,family film released on Feb 04, 1971. The film is directed by Bijoy Bose, music composed by Hemanta Mukherjee.

Nabarag(renewal of love) is a film on the complex relationship between a husband and his wife. The hit screen couple UttamKumar and Suchitra Sen portray the bond necessary for a family to succeed . Narayani, a poor village girl is brought to Kolkata and married to a big businessman .Narayani becomes a modern and sophisticated lady and takes the name Rina. Their son Raja, grows up thoroughly spoilt and unaffected by the simplicity retained by his mother who has roots in the village. He is arrogant enough to fire all the workers demonstrating at their gate. Nanda da, seemingly an eccentric looking man with an ambition of helping children to grow as a proper man arrives in the scene. Rina, concerned about here son’s upbringing secretly manouvers and shifts her only son Raja to a institute of child development, owned and managed by her Nanda da. This incident caused Bipul(Uttam Kumar) to lose his head and the police was set after the workers of his industry. The child abduction episode comes to an end when police get Raja at the institute run by Nanda da. The small interaction between Raja’s father and the Head of the Institute reveals to him the reality of a family bonds and their implications and direct infulence upon the child itself.
