Nagad Narayan is a 1943 Indian Bollywood comedy, family drama, social film released on Jan 01, 1943. The film is directed by Vishram Bedekar, music composed by Shridhar Parsekar.
Allegory about the South Asian economy during WW2. Bapuji is an agent for the Rangoon Oil Co. Although he has made his money mainly through the black marcket, his daughter Vidya (Dhere/ Dhesai) believes in his hinesty. She meets a young man whom she scorns as he does not seem to be from her own social class, but then he turns out to be Lalnath, a director of Rangoon Oil. When the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor, Bapuji seizes the oppurtunity to make money but Lalnath orders an investigation into Bapujis accounts. However, the rest of the companys Rangoon based directors, chased out of the country by the Japenese, oppose Lalnaths honesty and throw him out.
