Namkeen is a 1982 Indian Bollywood comedy film released on 1982. The film is directed by Gulzar, produced by Jayant Malkan , music composed by R. D. Burman.
This is the story of three sisters named as Nimki, Mitthu and Chinki. The elder sister is the spinster and the middle one cannot speak. Their mother is Kiran Vale and has been living with their daughters. But, the father is living in the separate building. Now one day, in their place comes a man named as Gerulal who would live as paying guest. He is a truck driver and is amazed to see how these sisters survive and live with their mother. He starts liking Nimki, but at the same time Mithhu also likes him, but cannot express her feelings.One day, Gerulal expresses his feelings to Nimki, but she denies and tells him that she would look after her mother and sisters. Now, one day due to Gerulal leaving the place, Mitthu commits suicide as she wanted him to stay. But, after his leaving, her mother also died due to the illness. Now, Chinki is also taken by her father and Nimki is left all alone. In all this, she is left alone and cannot live alone.
