Jeet is Salman Khan or Sameer, “thandi hawa ka jhoka”, Jisshu is Ajay Devgan or Vanraj and Koel, of course, has to be Aishwarya urf Nandini. The rest, as they say, is Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam with a Kaho Naa...Pyaar Hai twist in the tale. But Neel... doesn’t begin with Jeet (Akash) coming for music lessons at Koel’s (Chandni) place though Akash is musically-inclined. It rather feeds on the age-old tale of two friends

As the title of the film suggests Chandni is the common love interest, who first is sacrificed by Akash when he sees Neel’s and Chandni’s dads arranging for their marriage.
