Sukhiram, a bank clerk with a second wife, two sons and a daughter is surrounded by a family which thinks of nothing excepting money. He has a widowed sister Lakshmi whom he wants to join his family but the whole family opposes it. Rai Saheb dies leaving all the property to Lakshmi and every member of Sukhirams family starts dancing around to grab her money not knowing that the property was to be confiscated by Government for evasion of tax.
