Idealistic Rams one ambition is to do something for his village. Into his life comes rich, young Rekha who, inspite of warnings, marries Ram and comes to the village. Fed up with idling away her time, Rekha, in a huff, comes away to the city and takes up a job as tourist guide, only to discover that this life too, can be as humdrum as the one in the village.
