Kishore is a lively and mischievous young college student in love with his classmate, the beautiful Koumudi, who spurns him. His epoch-making discoveries in mathematics include the equations : Life minus Love = 0, You plus I = Heaven; Man minus brain plus gown = Our professor, etc. These he passes on to Koumudi who, not at all amused by the first two equations, passes them on to the professor. The professor, who disapproves of the third equation, throws Kishore out of the class. . Undaunted, Kishore continues to chase Koumudi, and unknown to her, takes the role of Rishi Kanva om a college play where Koumudi plays Shakuntala. The role was meant for an unattractive girl called Chandra, whom Kishore has to pay court to-an unenviable task-before she agrees to his paln. The swich becomes known only when Kanva holds Shakuntala in an unexpectedly long embrace and his heard slips. This time Kishore is thrown out of the college. . Undeterred, Kishore goes through many pranks that land him into hot water from time to time. Howevevr, he never stops pursuing Koumudi and visits her home in various disguises in the hope of getting closer to her. Finally, his efforts bear fruit-pretending to be an eye specialist, Kishore blindfolds Koumudis father, reveals his identity and his heart to Koumudi and wins his lady love.
