Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Pyar Kiye Jaa (1966)

Pyar Kiye Jaa is a 1966 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1966. The film is directed by C.V. Sridhar, music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

Ashok (Shashi Kapoor) – son of a poor school teacher gets a job as the estate manager at the Ram Lal estate owned by Ram Lal (Om Prakash). On his way to the estate, he hits a car driven by Ram Lal's daughters. Wanting to take revenge, the daughters don't let their father employ Ashok in his estate.

Ashok revolts by putting up a tent outside Ram Lal's house refusing to move until Ram Lal gives him back the job.

With not much luck to favour him, Ashok calls his best friend Shyam (played by Kishore Kumar) to help him. Shyam disguises as Ashok’s ‘rich’ father and comes to the estate to help his ‘son’ out.

To add to the comic element is Mehmood, Ram Lal’s son is an aspiring film maker. He decides to cast Meena (played by Mumtaz) – daughter of a servant at his father’s estate, as the lead actress in his movie.

And where is a movie complete without the ‘love ka twist’? Living up to its title, Ashok falls for Ram Lal’s younger daughter. And as fate would have it, Kishore Kumar loved the elder one already!

All in all, what we have is an interesting plot woven with humour. A star cast like Mehmood, Kishore Kumar and Om Prakash – this movie is definitely an old favorite for many!!!
