According to the traditions of the family, a young beautiful damsel, Bela belonging to the Devaghati clan was chosen to be Rajens life partner. Rajens father and grand father both gladly accepted her as the daughter-in-law of the household. . But Belas father Ragghu Thakur would on no account agree to this match. The reason was that Ragghus elder daughter had been cheated with promise of marriage by a young man from the city to the extent that the poor victim of this treachery went silently to ill-fame! Reggju was bitter to all young man from cities, particularly to a rich mans son. . But through the persuasion of Gurudev, Raghu finally gave his consent to the marriage of Bela with Rajan. When Belas wife was presented with the family heirloc a richly studded bejewelled necklace, she lost herself in the sweet and sublime dreams of blissful happiness. Little did the simple minded innocent girl imagine that fate was thereby driving her towards a precipice from where none had come back, and the necklace would be the cause of all that! . Rajen had become enamoured of a dancing girl maya whose charms it was impossible for him to resist Advices, rebukes and reprisals from father plus the warmth of truelove from a devout wife had no effect on Rajens mental make-up. On the contrary these made him go more toward the dancing girl, and run away from his wife. . The dancer had an evil genius whose name was Moti. Moti once prevaile upon Rajen to present the family necklace to Maya, and the blinded fool did not give secand though to the demand Tradition forbade the heriloom necklace from being removed from the neck of the bahu and still like an ideal wife Bela offered it to Rajen; . Thereafter, Bela continued to eat her heart silent remorse. So much so that silent suffering brought a realisation of shame even to the vile dancing girl, who became suddenly conscious of her despicable meanness. . But to all purposes Maya was a tool in the hands of Moti who contrived to destry Mayas weakness before it became a virtue and made elaborate plans for the destruction of Rajen and also of whatever had remained of Belas happiness, thereby. . The time comes, (as it comes in the life of many of us) when Mayas roused conscience refused to be suppressed, (after al it was discovered that Maya was Belas long lost elder sister) and Maya ataned for al the misery she had brought into Belas life by sacrificiing her own life! . The wicked Moti fell under the axe of Ragghu Thakur, and went to give the final account of his evil deeds to his Creator! . Love Selfless Love Triumphed, The lost lamb came back to the fold: . Rajen and Bela were once again united in a bond that not even the Gods could unite! Check out this page for more updates on Qeemat.
