Champa (played by Nandita Das) is a Hindu lady who is left lonely when her young son and husband wane one day from their village at the Pakistan-India border near Nagarparkar, in Tharparkar. The film shows the intersection of the Pakistan-India line, during June 2002 of war-like disputes between the two countries, by two representatives of a Pakistani Hindu family associated to the 'untouchable' Dalit group, and the extraordinary emanation of this accidental action upon the lives of a woman, a man, and son.The motif of the movie is how a child from Pakistan aged eight years gains to cope with the stress of forced dissolution from his mother while being held captive, along with his father handcuffed of a country (India), which is bitter to his own (Pakistan).
