At Kanpur, there was a famous businessman Manoharlal who lived with his three sons, two daughters, wife and a daughter-in-law. One day he met with his old family friend Satya Prakash. Satyaprakash lived in Lucknow with his wife and son Ajay. Manoharlal and Satyaprakash decided to fix the marrige of Ajay and Nirmala. They fell in loved with each other. Manoharlal and Satyaprakash had a mutual understanding between both of them. Satyaprakash was the judge of this meeting. Satyaprakash supported Manoharlal's opponent party. Manoharlal was angry with that. He broke the relation of Ajay and Nirmala. Manoharlal tried to fix the marriage of her daughter to another guy. Nirmala did not agree with that . Ajay and Nirmala decide to leave their house. Suddenly Nirmala's mother fell ill. Nirmala comes back home. After few days in another business meeting . Manoharlal was the judge of the meeting. He tried to support Satyaprakash's opponent party but he couldn't. He realized hisfault and appologized to Satya prakash . Manoharlal and Satyaprakash agree with Ajay and Nirmala's relation.
Whatever ones prejudices, when one occupies the judges chair one cannot ignore the truth. Truth alone guides a mans judgement. This is the lesson Manoharlal, a pragmatic businessman learnt hard way. Manoharlal believed that justice could be brought by friendship and money. When he nominated his old friend Satyaprakash as the arbirator he was sure that his friend would give the verdict in his favour - more so, when he offered his daughters hand to Satyaprakashs son Ajay. . Before accepting the proposal Ajay went to see Manoharlals daughter Nirmala. At the very sight they fell in love with each other. And as their parents had blessed their union, it was but natural that they should come very close to each other. But when Satyaprakash gave verdict against Manoharlal, the latter was dumbfounded. His rage knew no bounds. He broke all relations with Satyaprakash and even his daughters engagement. The fact that the young couple loved each other did not matter to Manoharlal. . Confronted with this situation Ajay met Nirmala clandestinely. Meanwhile when Manoharlal came to know of his daughters affair he fixed her marriage with another boy. Just a day before the proposed wedding, Nirmala agreed to elope with Ajay and go to his town. Accordingly, they went followed by her brother. But when Ajay came to know that shocked by her departure, Nirmalas mother has fallen critically ill, he took her back to her fathers house to meet her ailing mother and look after her. . Now it was the turn of Manoharlal to arbirtrate in a case involving Satyaprakash. His mind was made-up. He wanted to take revenge on Satyaprakash and teach him a lesson for giving verdict against him. But when he sat in the chair of a judge and the truth of the case came before him, he was in dilemma, could he ignore the truth and punsh the innocent friend? After a mental moral struggle, he found that he could not oppose the truth. The truth prevailed. Now he realised hos Satyaprakash was correct in his judgement. The old animosity was forgotten.
