Sagai is a 1951 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1951. The film is directed by H. S. Rawail.
Controversy rose, when Chandni, the western returned daughter of the wealthy Lala could not agtee to acept her fathers proposal of her marriage to the son of Lala Jugal Kishore to whom she was betrothed years ago, in the days of her childhood. But father was very firm and stern on his wishes and this made Chandni to run away form her father. Sudden disappearance of his dearest and the only daughter gave Lala a great shock and he was taken to bed. . Helpless Chandni, under pecuiar circumstances had to take resort of Phooman and Dhubu, two guys, wanted by police. They all three managed to get into a ship anchored in the city harbour. The said ship, captained by Prem was engaged by a Shahahadi, who was sailing fot her distant Jagira, with her entire retimue, But what further? This was the sqsuestion before these three, when the ship took off. They thought of plan. Chandni was made to hide her sex and with boys dress she was turned into a boy Chand. With their usual fun and frolic Phooman, Dhabu & Co. acquired sympathy of the captain of the ship, and subsequently-they were given work on the board. . Handsome and gay captain was a practiocal man. He thought least of love any time But Shahajadi lost her herart for him and Chandni too... Shahajadi ccould express her love to him but Chandni was helpless in this respect. One day Shahajadi opened her heart to CCcaptain and offered him a ring as a token of her love towards him. With the ring, he rushed to Chand, the boy form of Chandni. Chandni could not resist her emotions, she suddenly snatched the ring from the captains hand and threw deep into the sea. Captain got annoyed! Furious captain dema nded explanation of her action and the momentary storm was subsided when Chandni esxposed her identity and incidentally her love for captain. Dazzled with the charms of the beautiful innocent Chandni, captain dragged her, placed wreath of his arm round her. Her gave her place in his hard but now soften-heart. Thus Chandni and captain were love bound. . Phooman and Dhabu, who were under impression that Chandni was loving one of them, when learnt about this, were shocked and disappointed at at their defeat in love-war. . The ship reached Shahajadis Jagira, a very far island. The King of Jagira, incidentally the brother of Shahajadi, consented Shahajadis marriage to captain, with a view that he would get Chandni, who had by then fallen a prey to his wicked eyes. But captain daringl refused! He loved Chandni! Tyrant King put him behind bars and announced his marriage with Chandni. Helpless Chandni, Was forced to succumb to the ill desires of the King.
