Sandhya is a 1944 Indian Bengali drama,family film released on Sep 23, 1944. The film is directed by Moni Ghosh, produced by Aurora Film Corporation under banner named Aurora Film Corporation, music composed by Himangshu Dutta.

Kamakshya Choudhury the Raja Bahadur of Nischintapur, had a small family consisting of his wife Hemlata, daughter Manjushree and Shansanka and Ela, the son and daughter of his first wife. The queen was all in the family. Manohar the estate manager was actually the brother of the queen. As the money was kept by the queen herself, so Raja Bahadur had to depend on his queen for his fund. As Ela had a love marriage, so to the queen she was like an outcaste. Ela's husband requested Raja Bahadur for five thousand rupees for starting a new business, but the request was rejected by the queen. Manjushree's teacher Sandhya was a classmate of Ela. Knowing everything she could not help her friend. Moreover she was troubled by the love proposal of Kumar Bahadur Shasanka. Shasanka was loaded with a huge burden of loan. He had to pay back at least four thousand rupees as only interest charge immediately to his creditors. At that time Shasanka found that advertisement of Dipak Agency, who claims to solve all problems. Discussing with his father Raja Bahadur, Shasanka decided to steal a necklace of value rupees ten thousand with the help of Dipak Agency. From that Ela will be given five thousand. But Sandhya some how came to know about the plan of stealing. Raja Bahadur requested her to join the gang. Sandhya agreed to help as it will help her friend Ela. The necklace was stolen and at the same time the heart of Sandhya was stolen by Dipak of Dipak Agency.
