Sardar is a 1994 Indian Bollywood patriotic, biographical, biopic film released on Jan 01, 1994. The film is directed by Ketan Mehta, produced by H. M. Patel , music composed by Venraj Bhatia.
This movie is a brief measure of Vallabhbhai Patel's political life while India was catching first steps as an independent country. The story starts with young Sardar Patel playing cards with his friends. He talks about the silly ways how Mahatma Gandhi and his policies will help in achieving independence. But, his thoughts change however when he is introduced to Gandhi by his brother and forced to listen a lecture delivered by Gandhi, he joins him in his movements. Sardar then conducts various Satyagrahas throughout Gujarat. The film then goes to the scenes of Quit India Movement and India's freedom. Sardar is in working committee of the INC and wants that Nehru should accept a proposal for the partition of India when there is a chance for direct action. Sarder then comes to know that the problem will not result in civil war in the country.
