Bijan Mitra is a rich young man. He lives in his Baranapur house with his sister Renu. That day was Kalipuja in Kalighat area. Festive mood was all around. Bijan Mitra saw Lakshmi, a beautiful woman, and immediately fell in love with her. On investigation it has found that Lakshmi was actually daughter of prostitute Gastani. On the other side Ramchandra, another young man, also wanted Lakshmi's company. But Ramchandra helped Bijan to come close to Lakshmi. One day when Bijan had lost his last penny to Gastani, then it became clear why Ramchandra helped Bijan Seeing her brother's condition, Renu fell in a deep trouble. But she couldn't find any way. Ramchandra and Gastani then wanted to kill Bijan. Lakshmi became mad. A very rich man Dhanapati wanted to marry Renu. The reason was that he had given Bijan a large amount of loan. But Eenu's married life was very happy with rich-old Dhanapati. Ramchandra became a victim of leprosy. Bijan and Lakhmi ultimately got united. Lakshmi died keeping her head on Bijan's lap.
