The caravan of Princess Nagina escorted by Shamsher, Grand Vazirs son was returning to the capital. A willy Magician enchanted by her beauty planned to capture her not by force but by winning her sympathy He hired robbers to attack the caravan while it was to pass through SHAHI BAZAR and waited to save her in time. But the clever game of the magician was foiled by the timely intervention of a dashing youngman. Sheroo, a blacksmith by profession. The Princess was attracted by this youngmans dash who saved her from the robbers. This obligation and sympathy on the part of Princess towards Sheroo took the root of love in the hearts of both. Shamsher whose dignity was wounded did not like Princess Nagina paying attention to a commoner. . The magician who was now like a wounded tiger went to Sheroos shop in the disguise of an astrologer and took him and his friend Zamzan to his cave promising to arrange a personal meeting with the Princess Nagina. His real intention was to finish Sheroo and thus clear off the obstacle from his way. But, the ways of Nature are strange. ZamZams funny pranks, with a wooden, magic horse brought life to it and both escaped from their doom, on the back of a flying horse. The flying horse dashed against a minaret and dropped them on the terrace of the palace of the Princess Nagina. Sheroo met Princess, while ZamZam met his beloved Shammo. The Solidiers in the palace discovered the presence of strangers and Sheroo and ZamZam cleverly escaped. . The King who was informed of the incident, rebuked the princess for her love for a vagabond and ordered the immediate arrest of Sheroos old mother who was brought and tortured. Sheroo learning of his mothers arrest surrendered himself. He was arrested and ordered to be whipped to death. Princess Nagina wanted to save the life of her love at any cost and promised her father that she would agree to all his wishes if he would spare Sheroos life, Grand Vazir took advantage of the situation and announced Naginas engangement with his son Shamsher, Sheroo was realised and his mother took him away in a wounded condition. . Princess Nagina got perturbed with the incident and ran away from the palace in search of her lover. In the desert she was trapped in the strom, and was overpowered and fainted. In the morning some beggars who were passing through the desert found her and she joined them as a begger. While in search of her love, she came on the door steps of Sheroos, but his mother refused to let her meet him. Solidiers discovered her identity and she was taken back to the palace. . Sheroos mother took him away to Samarkand, where due to his heroic deeds he was made captain of Arms to the Shah of Samarkand. The Shah was also infatuated at the beauty of Nagina and wanted to marry her. To ask for the hand of Nagina, he sent Sheroo as his Ambassador.
