Shair-E-Kashmir Mahjoor is a 1972 Indian Bollywood biopic film released on 1972. The film is directed by Prabhat Mukhopadhyay, produced by Prabhat Mukhopadhyay , music composed by Prem Dhawan.
The film is based on the life of Gulam Ahmed Mahjoor who was accepted as Kashmirs National poet in 1953. The son of a priest he aspired to become a poet and spent an adventurous life to seek his goal. Destiny led him to people and places under strange circumstances and luck played truant with him till he started to write in Kashmiri after a gap of about four hundred years fromthe last known Kashmiri poet-Habba Khatoum.
