Shashi kapoor is in double role, Shankar and Ram. Amar Singh (Pran) is a wise inspector who stays happily with his wife and sons. But soon his eyes fall on a dangerous criminal. In a mysterious plot, Inspector Amar Singh was trapped and was accused of murder and was sent to prison for life. His wife gets separated from his two sons who could not find them any where. Ram turns into a wise police officer, but Shankar becomes a criminal and very soon starts working with that dangerous criminal. Meanwhile Roopa Verma (Neetu Singh) returns from abroad and forced to work with them. Since her father was in the hands of the criminal. Inspector Amar Singh gets back from jail and gets into a disguise and starts working as a servant in that criminal's home. Very soon he starts coming close to all the crimes committed by that criminal and helps police in solving those crimes. Soon Ram come in contact with her Mom and in an incident Ram, Shankar and his mother were all united together. Inspector Amar Singh came into scene and soon recognises his wife and thus all of them reunited. At last Bindiya (Bindu) who is a senior officer catches all the criminals red handed.
