Shehnai is a 1947 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1947. The film is directed by P. L. Santoshi, music composed by C. Ramchandra.
Hit musical by the famous duo of lyricist Santhoshi and composer Ramachandra. Marital drama featuring the four daughters of a comedian (V.H. Desai), the rival, the arrogant daughter of the zamindar (Indumati), and the various men in thier lives; the zamindar secretary (Radha Kishen), the police inspector (Kishore Kumar) etc. The film had Ramachandras all-time hit Ana meri jaan Sunday ke Sunday (sung by Meena Kapur and Shamshad Begum with the composer) and several other songs, including the Bhajan Jai Krishna hare Krishna (sung by Veenapani Mukherjee) and the railway number Jawani ki rail chale jai re (sung by Geeta Dutt, Lata Mangeshkar and the composer).
