Shesh Anko is a 1963 Indian Bengali drama,family,romance,suspense film released on Feb 01, 1963. The film is directed by Haridas Bhattacharya.

Sudhangshu was a burinessman. He loves Soma. Soma was the daughter of Dr Haraprosad. His first wife was dead. When he lives in Burma. Aentally he killed her. Because she was a mentally challenged. The widower Sudhangshu (Uttam KUmar) meets and falls in love with Mala (Sharmila Tagore), daughter of advocate Haraprasad (Pahadi Sanyal). Over time Mala reciprocates and surmounting her initial hesitation to entwine her life with a widower, agrees to marry Sudhangshu.

But even as the day of the planned marriage approaches, a lady (Sabitri Chatterjee), very much alive of course, appears, claiming to be Sudhangshu's wife Kalpana. Spurned by Sudhangshu, she takes him to court demanding her right to his home and hearth back. Notwithstanding Sudhangshu's denial and Mala's utter trust in his assertion that this woman is an impostor, these events cast a shadow over the proposed marriage which gets postponed.

Enter a snooping Mr Samaddar (Bikash Roy), a mysterious character with uncomfortable questions, to compound Sudhangshu's troubles. The redoubtable lawyer Suren Banerjee (Kamal Mitra) stands in court on behalf of the newly appeared purported Kalpana, and produces many of her personal effects in court. Sudhangshu's protestations that these were stolen from his house does not seem too convincing, and evidence is further mounting against him when a photo album surfaces with the claimant's picture as his wife. His world seems to be falling apart as Kalpana's brother Deben (Tarun Kumar), a navy man away for long periods upon the seas on duty, arrives on the scene and and supports the claimant.

Is Sudhangshu a scoundrel who has deserted his earlier wife in a bid to to ensnare his new love Mala, or the innocent victim of a conspiracy? Which way will the court decide? The suspense is built on brilliantly, culminating with a surprising twist in the climax.
