Sholay 1953

Sholay is a 1953 Indian Bollywood social film released on Jan 01, 1953. The film is directed by B R Chopra. It was a world of romance and beauty which Dr.Roy had built in his imagination and it was this world that crashed when according to his fathers dying wish he got married to Shobha-beautiful, accomplished and a devoted wife, but lacking the one thing that Dr. raoy yearned for all his life-romance, and an appreclation of beauty. Frustrated thus, Dr. Roy made a compromise with life and before long slided into the groove of a time-tabled existence. At home and at his clinic time ran as precisely as a clock. But beneath this practised orderliness there lurked a latent spark which needed only an excuse to get ignited and it came in the shape of Bina, who entered his clinic with a bruised knee and left an open gash in his heart. . The fury and passion of his love for Bina dulled his reasoning mind and leaving the heaven he had so assiduously bulit up at home Roy wandered to the edge of a conflict, which in time assumed the proportions of an imsoluble problem. It was easy to love Bina but it became difficult to find a compromise between love and married life. . He tried to conceal things from Bina. He could not afford to lose her. But secrets have a tendency to betray their owners and one day Bina learnt all about it and decided to walk out of Roys life. Having tast ed the thrills of romance Roy could not live without Bina and he followed her to Bombay, where she had run away from him and herself. Even the crime of substituting a dead man for himself did not appear heinous at that time. . At Bombay although he was near Bina he had no peace of mind. The torments and sorrows of his wife and children haunted him in his so- called romantic companiondhip. . The sudden and serious illness of his wife brought him back to his house, under disguise. Seeing the sad plight of his wife and children he resolved to return to them but the question was, how? . From then on life was little else than a meandering brook that had neither beginning nor end. Every living hour ws spent dodging people every night facing the mightmarish figures that conscience who arrested Dr. Roy for the murder of Dr. Roy - yes, for his own murder! . Sa anding before the tribunal that man has established to judge fellowmen, Roy saw arraigned before him his accusers his sorrowing wife his innocent children whoe faces bore the strains of a sorrow that strikes before its ordained hour and Bina, her beautiful face and once sparkling the tragedy of unfulfilled dreams and stagnated desires monuments to a moments madness. . Who is to judge what he deserved? For there are no fixed standards to weigh the human soul each man must seek out his own salvation.
