Shor is a 1972 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1972. The film is directed by Manoj Kumar, produced by Manoj Kumar , music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

Manoj kumar's 'Shor' talks about love, friendship and problems of life and spirit to overcome them. Shankar (Manoj Kumar) hates noise since his wife lost her life trying to save their child Deepak (Master Satyajeet). Deepak loses his voice after the accident, which doctor (Raj Mehra) says can be retrieved through a surgical operation. But for that Shankar needs quite a bit of money which he can’t afford. Meanwhile, Rani alias Raat ki rani, a beggar girl, comes to Shankar and His friend Khan’s notice; Khan adopts her as his daughter. Khan also gives money to Shankar for his son’s operation, but shankar gets robbed and loses the money. Determined to cure his son, Shankar takes part in a local tournament to gather money. To win he has to break the local cycling record, by continuous cycling for days & nights. Shankar breaks the record, but before he could listen his son’s voice, looses his listening power in an accident.


Symbolically, noise is woven here as the destroyer of all aesthetic sense of human living. The only burning desire of a working youth is to hear his only child who had accidently lost the faculty of speech. He is helped and sympathised by a kindly Pathan.
