Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Shunya E Buke (2005)
The film Shunya E Bukey is about a group of four aspiring painters and sculpcters who are all close friend and students of the government art college. They all decide to go on a holiday to Khajuraho to study temple architecture; but instead become attracted to the erotic sculptures on display and the female form, especially the breast, becomes a topic of discussion between them. They begin to discuss why all the female forms at Khajuraho have enlarged breasts. It must have been a source of male fantesy down the ages. Over there the group comes across Teesta a beautiful and cultured girl from a very well known traditional family who is accompanied by her uncle and is known to one of the members of the group Anjit(Tota Roychaudhury) Sumitra (Kaushik Sen) the most talented and soft spoken member of the group falls for Teesta (Churni) and slowly and stadily a relationship develops between them. They decide to get married but there is strict disapproval from the girl parents as they want her to get married to someone only of their status and not to any struggling painter. But Teesta decides to go ahead and marry Soumitro or never get married at all. On the night of the marriage Soumitro is shocked to find that his wife's full breasts were actually created by wiring and artificial padding. All his love for her seems to have gone and he accuses her of cheating on him. He walks out on her. Teesta goes and seeks solution from Sharmisthadi (Rupa Ganguly) her boss. When Soumitro turns up there he is turned away. Soumitra draws a diagram one day and shows the shortcoming of Teesta's body to Joydeep (Kharaj Mukherjee) who in turns tells it to Sujoy ,Sujoy to Anjit. Teesta comes to know about this from Anjit. She asks Soumitro not to make a mockery of her any more and asks for a divorce. A few years later Soumitro again comes across Anjit and Teesta with their daughter at the back . Anijit and Teesta stayed in touch and found solace in each other and got married. Teesta tells Soumitro that her husband is quite happy with her as well as her daughter in spite of her physical shortcoming and they have a very happy married life. Soumitra regrets the offences that he had committed a few years back and he questions himself with a heart full of guilt and shame.
