Subhadra is a 1946 Indian Bollywood musical film released on 1946. The film is directed by Winayak, music composed by Vasant Desai.
Vinayaks only full-scale mythological tells of the argument between Krishna (Prem Abib) and his stepbrother Balram (Salvi) as to who their sister Subhadra (Apte) should marry. Eventually Krishna has his way and Arjun (Ishwarlal) marries her. Shanat Apte sings a rare duet with Lata Mangeshkar (Main khili khili phulawar) for this film. *.* Subhadra is the only sister of Shri Krishna and Balaram. Balaram the elder brother, wants her to marry Duryodhan, the elder son of Dhritarashra, the Kaurava king. But Shri Krishna has set his heart on giving his sister in marriage to Arjun, the most valiant warrior of the five Pandava brothers. The two brother quarrel over who should finally be Subhadras bridegroom. The cunning Shri Krishna sends Arjun on a pilgrimage for two years to provide him the opportunity for quietly kidnapping Subhadra.
