Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Time Pass (2005)
Time Pass throws light on the negative results that a liberal society can face. The youth of such a society stands in danger of being led into acts of debauchery and sexual excesses.
Vishal is a college-going boy who fantasises about his mother's best friend's daughter Jenny. He visits Jenny often on the pretext of taking dance classes from her, much to the chagrin of his mother.
Jenny is also a college girl who does not believe in conservative clothing and hence she becomes a ready source of attraction for men. Her elder sister has earned a scandalous reputation by being impregnated in the very first year of college.
Vishal, overcome by lust is determined to spend one evening alone with Jenny. However all opportune moments seem to betray him.
On one such pre-planned occasion he goes to Bafna Uncle's flat telling Jenny that Bafna Uncle's profession of an ad-film maker would be of help to Jenny. It has earlier been settled between Bafna Uncle and Vishal that the former will leave his flat to the two of them for the evening. But Bafna Uncle's amoral nature takes over him and Vishal and Jenny leave the flat in a flurry.
When they come out they find themselves in the throes of Hindu-Muslim violence. They go to another friend Anand's house but they are unfortunate this time too. This effort continues till Vishal and Jenny find themselves struck by Cupid's arrow.
What begins as lust finally takes the two individuals to a more concrete relationship. This is portrayed in the midst of communal animosity and Jenny and Vishal help by building bridges between their two different religions.
