Trunk Call is a 1960 Indian Bollywood social, action film released on Jan 01, 1960. The film is directed by Balraj Mehta, music composed by Ravi.
The dead body of one Calcuttas wealthiest men, Seth Kapurchand, lay in his room. The safe in which he kept his jewellery and other valuables was empty; and his Secretary, Raj was nowhere to be seen... . But the Police caught up with the absconder at the Delhi Airport. The missing jewellery was found in his luggage-a fact which seemed to astonish Raj immensely. He vehemently protested his innocence, but the evidence, was over whelmeningly against him. Even his dear friend inspector of police Ram, found it difficult to believe him. Raj said, the deceased himself had telephoned him at a quarter to ten the previous night to go to Delhi, whereas the medical evidence showed that death had occured at a quarter-past nine! How could a man, dead for half an hour, talk over the telephone? Moreover, Rajs fingerprints were all over the deceaseds room. Therefore, much as he hated the idea, inspector Ram had to put Raj into lock up. . But Raj was not without friends. His own sister Leela was one of those who refused to believe that he was guilty. She came down to Bombay, determined to unmask the murderer; and stepped right into a regular Danger zone. How she eventually succeeded in bringing the real culprit to book, who this real culprit was, what was his motive and how at every step he diabolically bamboozled inspector Ram, forms the substance of "Trunk Call".
