Tufan is a 1989 Indian Bengali drama,family film released on 1989. The film is directed by Biresh Chattopadhyay, music composed by Swapan Chakraborty.

This is a social story of a person named manik and his loving family comprising his wife archana and his three son’s kumar anjar and bhaskar one day manik was arrested by police on a false murder case as planned by one of the criminal of his area. Mona gunda also planned to kill rest of the members of the manik's family but somehow they escaped from him. But all the four members got separated from each other archana was given shelter by a person named gautam kumar became right hand of mona gunda anjan was brought up by amarnath mukherjee and soma dey they also had a daughter naina das and bhaskar was brought up in a very lower class family. Anjan's lover was lina, bhaskar's lover was oma and kumar loved rupa who was the daughter of mona gunda. Finally manik came out from jain and started finding out his lost 3 sons and his wife. He started selling scent sticks and in this way suddenly he saw the mona gunda talking to kumar. Manik requested to take him to the vishwarkarma puja organized by mona gunda. There manik confirmed himself that manoj is none other than gunda who falsely implicated him in the murder case. Mona also could identify manik by on artist who sketched his photograph if he is without his long beard, moustache, and long hair, on other hand a song bashbo bhalo, rakhbo bhore" which was very popular in the whole of the family of manik was sung by anjar in that puja where eachy and every member of manik was present and all became surprised and attentive to the song and could recognize each other that they belonged to the same family and son of manik and archana. Ultimately kumar saved manik from the clutches of mona gunda who was in disguise of manoj and finally whole of the family member got united.
