Ajit has mostly worked in Hindi and has worked in languages like Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Telugu, Oriya.
He was born on 27 January 1922. He died on 22 October 1998. He did more than 200 movies. He played the lead roles in the films such as Bada Bhai, Milan, Bara-Dari, Nastik, Mughal-e-Azam and Naya Daur.He was born in Golconda, Hyderabad. He completed his education from Warangal. He studied in Govt. Junior College.He was known for his roles such as Nastik, Hatimtai (1947), Milan, Bada Bhai, Baradari, Dholak, Sikander (van mala), Sone Ki Chidiya (Leela Kumari), Aap Beeti (Khursheed), Dholak (Meena Shori) and Chanda Ki Chandni and many more.
