Bappi Lahiri

Bappi Lahiri is a Music Director and also worked as Singer, Actor, Background Music, Lyricist, Director, Assistant Music Director. Bappi Lahiri has mostly worked in Hindi and has worked in languages like Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Bhojpuri.
He was born on 27 November 1952. He is a music director of the Indian cinema. He is known for his popular disco songs. He was a famous singer of 80s and 90s. He created many soundtracks like: Wardat, Disco Dancer, Namak Halaal, Dance Dance, Commando, Gang Leader, and Sharaabi. He joined BJP in 2014. He was given a cheat of BJP seat in West Bengal for the Indian general election, 2014. He was born in Kolkata. He was born to Aparesh Lahiri and Bansari Lahiri both from Kolkata, West Bengal. They were famous singers at the time. They were the famous Bengali singer and musician in classical music and Shyama Sangeet. At the age of 19, he got shifted to Mumbai. He first sang for Bengali movie’ Daadu (1972) and the first Hindi film for which he composed music was Nanha Shikari (1973). He sang for more than 500 films and 5000 songs. He sang for many languages like: Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Assamese, Oriya, etc. He sang for many disco songs of Govinda and Mithun da. He sang songs with many pop singers like: Usha Uthup, Sharon Prabhakar, Alisha Chinai, Parvati Khan, Bali Brahmabhatt, Vijay Benedict, Nandu Bhende, Remo Fernandes, Salma Agha, and film star Anil Kapoor, Amrish Puri, Padmini Kolhapure, Mandakini, and Amjad Khan.
