He was born on 9 January 1974. He is the Indian actor, producer, writer, playback singer, lyricist etc. He was born to Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani. He attended Maneckji Cooper School; he got a commerce degree in HR College, Mumbai. He started his filmy career by working as an assistant director in Lamhe (1991) and Himalaya Putra (1997). He also started his own production company ‘Excel Entertainment’. He made his debut with the movie Dil Chahta hai. He also made Lakshya and Bride and Prejudice. He started his acting career with the movie ‘Rock on’. People appreciated his work in the movie ‘Zindagi na milegi dobara’. This movie won him two ‘Filmfare awards’.
