He was born on 5 January 1922. He died on 4 September 2000. Mukri was an Indian film actor and a comedian. Mukri was known for his work in the Hindi cinema. He was born as Muhammad Umar Mukri in Alibagh. He made his debut with the film Pratima along with noted film actor Dilip Kumar in 1945. He had worked in more than 600 movies. He was known for his work in the movies like Mother India (1957), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Sharaabi (1984), Laawaris (1981), Gopi (1972), Bombay to Goa (1972), Kohinoor (1960) and many more. He worked as a Qazi before entering the Indian cinema. He died due to heart attack at Lilavati Hospital. He was married to Mumtaz. The couple had 5 children, 3 sons and 2 daughters.
