He completed his education from St. Joseph's Boys' High School, Bangalore. He joined the St. Joseph's College of Commerce, Bangalore for further studies. He was earlier married to Lalitha Kumari in 1994. They have two daughters, Meghana and Pooja, and a son Sidhu. The two later got divorced and now he is married to the choreographer Pony Verma.
