Thilakan is a Actor and also worked as Producer, Story Writer. Thilakan has mostly worked in Malayalam and has worked in languages like Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi.
He was born on 15 July 1935. He died on 24 September 2012. He is an Indian film and a stage actor who had starred in over 200 Malayalam films. He is known as Perumthachan (master craftsman) of Malayalam Cinema. He is the recipient of 3 National Film Awards and 9 Kerala State Film Awards. The Government of India felicitated him with the Padma Shri in 2009 for his contributions in the arts. He died due to cardiac arrest in Thiruvananthapuram. He is known for his works in the films such as Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal, Sphadikam, Moonnam Pakkam, Chenkol, Mookkilla Rajyathu, Kaattu Kuthira, Randam Bhavam and Yavanika.
